Preethi Nellakanti Work Anniversary

Each month, we highlight and celebrate our employee’s commitment as well as their meaningful contributions to the organization. Akosua Domfeh, recently caught up with Preethi  Nellakanti, Associate Director, Media Activation as she celebrated her nine-year work anniversary with ID Media.

How long have you worked here? Can you tell us more about your role and background?

I’ve been working at ID Media for the past 9 years. I’m originally from India but my family and I moved to St. Louis some years ago. I attended college at Pace University in New York and started working in the NYC office in 2010. I worked in the NY office for 4 years, then moved to the Chicago office for 2 years, and I have been in the LA office for 3 years. I’m an Associate Director on the Media Activation team and the majority of the clients I handle are West Coast based. Additionally, I manage the day to day responsibilities for the accounts I work on within the media activation portfolio.

How do you balance your career and family?

Don’t get stressed out! I know things have to get done and stressing out about it doesn’t help move things along. Time management is key and taking a little leeway when given is essential to proper work/life balance.

What advice do you have for prospective candidates and new hires?

I would recommend prospective candidates ask as many questions during the interview process as possible. It can be scary, but everyone has to start somewhere; take initiative and be eager. You are in charge of your own career, so ask questions, and don’t assume anything. Furthermore, try to put yourself in other people’s shoes, and always be respectful to everyone, regardless of your title and level in the organization.

What is your proudest moment?

My proudest moment is being given the opportunity to relocate from one city to another and still maintain the level of trust with new and old team members.

What is your hidden talent?

Can I say I’m lucky? I tend to win a lot of things. In the past, I’ve won gift cards, headphones, a Playstation, a Roku, and on scratch offs ($200-$500) just to name a few. During the LA holiday party last year, they had a raffle, and I won Coffee Bean gift cards. If I can’t use being lucky as a hidden talent, I would go with crying on cue.

In addition to Preethi, we would also like to congratulate, Alice Pott, Anjela Li, Brian McMahon, Bridget McGowan, Laura Ryan, and Jeanette Reihing who also celebrated their work anniversary in the month of January.

Thank you all for your wonderful years of service!
