Shining Star: Michele Walker Bordonaro (she/her/hers)

Our Director of Operations, Michele Bordonaro, gets candid about her personal passions and main life goals — plus she shares which superstar football player she named her dog after, and how her tattoos reveal a lot about who she really is.

A little about my work history: Prior to joining Orion in April of 2020, I spent 20 years in Network/Broadcast Operations across high-profile brands including AETN, AMC, BBC America, and BBC World News. What does that mean? Implementing and deploying systems and tools along with evaluating and adjusting workflows for greater efficiency and accuracy.

So, who am I?  Well, I have seven half brothers and sisters — and I’m the youngest. I have four tattoos that represent who I am and who I want to be. Yes, I suspect there will be fifth and maybe even more. My tattoos are: 1) a tree of life with the quote, “Life is about moments. Be present, knowing you know nothing. 2) the Dog Constellation. Who hasn’t seen or heard one of my three rescue dogs Brady, Griffin, and Tucker while on a call? 3) the Chinese symbol for courage — because a little bit of courage goes a long way. And 4) The Boston “B” — yes, that makes me a Red Sox fan. I am from New England and have a dog named Brady. He’s also a tall blond.

Some fun facts about me: I’m a convict. Well, I played one on TV, as a re-occurring extra in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. Also, I won a radio contest to meet the cast of Party of Five where I spilled water on Jennifer Love Hewitt, and her response back to me was, “I’m just glad you’re not peeing on me.” Hmm, is it normal for Jennifer Love Hewitt to be peed on?

Plus, when I was 12, I caught a foul ball at my first Red Sox game at Fenway Park. It was hit by Tony Pena, then Red Sox catcher turned Yankee bench coach, and for those who know the rivalry, they know how hard it was for me to ask Tony to sign the ball at Yankee Stadium decades later.

My passions: knowledge, both learning and sharing; bio-hacking my life for longevity, which includes fitness, mental resilience, meditation, intermittent fasting or time-restricted eating, gratitude, listening, authenticity, laughing, and loving.

My life goal: making the most of my life by being the best wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, colleague, mentor, and rescue dog mom I can be (not that I don’t support cats, I’m just allergic).
